We've taken a lot of fun Christmassy photos this season! Have, like, all of them.

Two for Tea and More!
One of my "old year resolutions" is to resurrect this poor blog! I had this post written, waiting just for measurement statistics and photos! So here we go. Some updates.
April 2, 2017
Dear Hazel,
It feels like you've been part of our family forever, so it's hard to believe it's only been two years. On the other hand, how did two years go by so fast?
You are a beautiful, tiny human being! You have an enormous heart, a joyous laugh, and a mischievous grin.
You are 34.5 inches tall (which may have been an over-measurement, but that's the official from the doctor), weigh 23 pounds, and have 15 and a half teeth (one of your canines is taking forever to come in). You wear anywhere between 18 month to 2t clothing. Your favorite pair of pants are actually 12 month size, and you still manage to wear them about once a week. You wear a size 4 diaper.
You are talking, talking, talking. You speak in sentences. Not always grammatically correct, but you get your point across. The other day, it was "Maui and O-nana, watch it?" (Moana is your favorite movie right now.) I can understand about 90% of what you say. Maybe more. You still like to say "Mommy, eeey-are you?" I love how you say "Gyamma" and "Gyampa". And "Byub you!"
Your favorite foods are hummus, beans, pork, pasta, and smoothies.
Okay, unfortunately that's all I wrote. I wish I'd said more! But here's another update. Two for one! Bonus!
December 12, 2017: Isms & Updates
Dear Hazel,
You are two years, two months, and 10 days old. I don't know how much you weigh or how tall you are, but it's probably some amount more than you were in April!
I tell you this all the time, but you are my favorite little girl in the whole world!
You talk, you sing, you babble almost constantly. You speak in complete sentences. You've lost a lot of your "baby" pronunciations (see below for a few you've hung onto). It does make me a little sad every time I notice you pronouncing something correctly that you used to have your own way to say! No more "byub you" or "gyamma". Sniff! You play with dolls and have an entire dialogue going. You sit behind me in the car and I hear a constant stream of conversation, even if I can't hear you well enough to know what you're saying. Grandpa Rob says you got your Great Grandma Peggy's chatty genes!
I have to document some "Hazelisms".
Cocadots (polkadots)
Cake-a-butter (peanut butter)
Upcakes (cupcakes)
Noo-nana (Moana)
I donk wank to! (I don't want to)
You are potty trained. You decided in either late July or early August that you wanted to use the potty, and you did it! I was nervous because not only were you not yet 2.5 years old, but you were starting preschool in a matter of weeks, and I thought that might be a difficult transition. To my pleasant surprise, it went very well, and we have now been a diaper-free house for about four months!
We are still trying to encourage you to spend the entire night in your bed. Over the last many months, we've moved from you coming into our bed when you woke up, to one of us getting into your bed with you, to one of us laying on your floor, to one of us laying in the hallway, to our current: one of us walking you back to bed. I hope the next update will be that you are able to sleep all night until your light is green! Your exhausted parents who have not slept an uninterrupted night in many years will thank you. :)
I briefly mentioned school, but... SCHOOL! You started at ACDS in September, and you love it! You did go through a little rough patch that lasted a few weeks after our vacation to California in October, but before that and since then, you have loved going to school. We just watched you in your first Christmas concert, and you did a fantastic job of standing and watching. Heehee!
Favorites. You still love Paw Patrol. You were Skye for Halloween, and you request Paw Patrol any time the TV goes on. You love peanut butter or almond butter on a spoon, or with honey on bread. You love frozen go-gurt and vitamins and chocolate. You still like beans, and soup is a new favorite. Butternut squash is probably #1, but most any soup has been a hit lately. You love playing with dolls or your pups or anything you can "make believe" with. You love drawing and painting.
You have the best giggle, the sparkliest eyes, and give the most amazing hugs.
Oh! And you point out ALL the "H for Hazel"s you can find. This morning, you sat in front of the little TV in the kitchen and watched the news ticker on the Today Show like a hawk, pointing out all the H's. (You also point out O for Oliver, and probably a few others.)
Love you, Hazel-basil!
